Lignin extracted from sweet sorghum bagasse pretreated with low-moisture anhydrous ammonia (LMAA) was extensively characterized using diffusion-ordered NMR spectroscopy, one-dimensional 1H NMR, and multinuclear two-dimensional NMR techniques, including HSQC, HMBC, and HSQC-TOCSY. These analyses, combined with other complementary methods, enabled the detailed structural elucidation of the lignin, allowing its structural features to be correlated with molecular weight information.

Quantitative nuclear magnetic resonance (qNMR) spectroscopy, based on the proportional relationship between the integrated signal area and the number of resonating nuclei, enables the accurate determination of metabolite concentrations in biological systems. This makes qNMR a valuable tool in metabolomics and bioanalysis for revealing the metabolic state of organisms.
